The expertise within the Centre for PET, and the international reputation gained in PET research, has placed the Centre for PET as a unique resource within the Australian research community. It is the only facility in the country capable of highly specialised 11C and 18F ligand development, and remains a national referral centre for H215O water clinical and research studies. The research programs of the Centre for PET are planned to continue in neuroscience and oncology areas, with specific emphasis on stroke, psychiatry and tumour biology.
